Divine Design leads you through a spiritual makeover.
Imagine that you have participated in a fashion makeover. You look beautiful, polished, and radiant. Cries of “You look amazing!” and “I can’t believe it’s you!” reach your ears—and you feel fantastic. Oh, yes, it’s exciting, but that kind of transformation doesn’t last long. By next week, the manicure will be chipped. By next month, the shoes will look scuffed. The elegant dress will last a little longer, but by next year, it will be out of date.
Divine Design: 40 Days of Spiritual Makeover will lead you through a different kind of transformation: an alteration of attitude. Your journey through these pages will, by God’s grace, enable you to experience a spiritual makeover that will transform your heart. This renovation of character will not become chipped, scuffed, or passé. Through God’s free gift of faith in Jesus, you possess the garment of salvation: the robe of righteousness and eternal life with God. He has begun a spiritual makeover in you!
For individuals and small groups, this eight-week Bible study contains true stories and encouragement that will change you, transform you, and make you new!
Divine Design Will Help You Throw Out:
- the worry handbag
- the prom dress of pride
- the bitterness sweater
- the boots of selfishness
- anything the color of envy green

What People Are Saying
This book is a gem. It is an eight-week women’s Bible Study that explores the issue of inner beauty and proposes how to do a makeover of the spiritual variety. The study can be done independently, but many of Sharla’s weekly activities are so delightful and interactive (and funny!) that they just beg to be shared by a group of women.
The book is divided into eight-week segments, each delving into a single “wardrobe accessory” that we focus on eliminating from our wardrobe. One week focuses on controlling behavior; another on envy; another on bitterness, and so on. Sharla uses Scriptural passages to not only identify what our spiritual wardrobe should look like, but also how to accomplish the wonderful transformation that God longs to richly give us.
This is a quick and easy read. I found myself not wanting to wait until the following day to read and work on the next day’s “assignment.” Sharla’s antidotes are lighthearted. She is a gifted writer and shares a wealth of Bible-based strategy for transforming and softening our souls. She never comes off as preachy, though, and some of her antidotes and quips are very funny.
Divine Design by Sharla Fritz is a fun and easy way to study the Bible. With the author’s light-hearted stories, thought provoking questions and little pearls of wisdom sprinkled throughout the book, I found it to be one of the most interesting Bible studies I have done. I highly recommend this book for both personal and group study.
